Alberto obtained his BSc and MSc from University of Zaragoza (Spain) working on light-responsive supramolecular polymers for drug delivery. He completed his PhD studies at the same university in the Liquid Crystals and Polymers Group led by Prof. José Luis Serrano. He carried out two pre-doctoral stays at the Eindhoven University of Technology (Netherlands) and at the University of Calabria (Italy). His PhD research interests covered a broad range of topics related to the use of liquid crystals as a tool to prepare organic semiconductors, proton-transporting materials, and nanoporous polymers.
Alberto joined The Swager Group in the fall of 2018 as a postdoctoral researcher where he is currently investigating complex smart colloids to develop new optical devices.
