Cagatay received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemistry from Middle East Technical University, Turkey in 2010 and 2011, respectively. In summer 2009, he carried out his summer internship at the University of Minnesota under the supervision of Prof. Wayland E. Noland. Later, he moved to ETH Zürich in Switzerland and received his Ph.D. (2015) in the laboratory of Prof. François Diederich investigating Janus-dendrimer-type multivalent donor–acceptor systems. Cagatay joined the Swager lab in January 2016 as an SNF postdoctoral fellow. His research focuses on 1D to 2D polymer transformations assisted by the preorganization at interfaces.
