John Fennell is a career Army Officer who received a B.S. in chemistry from Providence College in 1997. John also obtained an M.S. in chemistry under Dr. Scott Cowley at the Colorado School of Mines in 2008. His graduate research on the surface chemistry of DNA microarray sensors was conducted at the National Renewable Energy Lab in Golden, Colorado.  John joined the Swager Lab in the summer of 2013 under the United States Army’s Advanced Civil Schooling program and is researching binary and ternary composites of carbon nanotubes with other materials for ethylene-sensitive devices.
