Sibo was reared in Evansville, IN. He attended Indiana University-Bloomington and worked with Prof. Mu-Hyun Baik to computationally model transition metal-catalyzed [4+2] cycloadditions. After receiving B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics, Sibo conducted his graduate studies with Prof. Theodor Agapie at the California Institute of Technology on transition metal-arene complexes and the mechanisms of arene activation and functionalization. He joined the Swager Group as a postdoctoral researcher in March 2014 and works on conjugated organic materials for electronic chemical sensors.
