Sung Hwa Hong

Sung Hwa grew up in Montreal, Canada and received a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at Concordia University where he worked with Professor Jung Kwon Oh on redox-responsive polymeric nanoparticles. In 2018, he started his doctoral studies at the University of Toronto with Professor Hani Naguib. His work focused on the development of self-healing materials for flexible electronics. After completing his PhD, he stayed in Professor Naguib’s group as a post-doctoral fellow working on Li-ion batteries in collaboration with Universal Matter. He then joined the Swager group in 2023 as a NSERC postdoctoral fellow.
