Sherrie Qian is part of the MIT class of 2023 and is originally from Ithaca, New York. She is currently an undergraduate student majoring in Materials Science and Engineering and minoring in Chemistry. After exploring a few different material fields she found her interest in polymers. Her current research is focused on determining the effect of polymer chain entanglement, varied by molecular weight, on mechanical and gas transport properties of poly(ladder) ROMPs and looking at the effect of cyano groups on the ROMP process. Outside of the lab, Sherrie enjoys doing different styles of dancing including; ballet, contemp, hip hop etc., as well as baking, and playing Don’t Starve Together.
