Thomas grew up in Woburn, a suburb northwest of Boston. He attended Northeastern University from 2017 to 2022, where he graduated with a BS in Chemistry and Physics. At Northeastern, he worked with Prof. Rein Kirss on kinetic studies of ruthenium-based cycloaddition catalysts. In addition, during his undergraduate career, he completed co-op internships at Nano-C, Inc. and C2Sense, Inc., where he studied purification techniques for carbon nanotubes as well as their applications in carbon dioxide sensing. Thomas joined the Swager Group in the fall of 2022 as a graduate student in the inorganic chemistry program.
